Bushwhacker Adventure Hikes
When: Scheduled Privately ~ Off-Trail Hiking for the Adventurous
Where: A Variety of Wildlands areas like Whiskey Hollow and Middle Fork of the Savage River, Big Savage Mountain.
Cost: $20 per person (8 person or $160 minimum) Group rate as low as $10 per person.
What you will do: You will learn backcountry navigation including map and compass and off trail route finding. We travel by trail and compass/map reading. Great trips for youth groups, adventurous families, and adult groups looking for more than just gentle trails in the woods. Usually we travel a minimum of 6-8 miles and the trip is usually 3-4 hours.

Brant Mine Tour
When: Scheduled privately~ a good afternoon and evening hike
Where: We meet at the Discovery Center
Cost: $15 per person with a $100 minimum guide fee
What you will do: You will take a two hour hike to the historic Brant Mine. The abandoned mine has been partially restored to offer an educational experience about early mining and the history of Delphia Brant and George Beckmans mine which they operated between 1923 and 1926. Along the way to and from the mine, your guide will point out natural features. At the mine a short talk is given on the history of the mine and Deep Creek Lake. This is a great educational trip for corporate groups or families that are not up for a wilderness hike, or maybe do not have the time for an extended hike. Trip is about two hours.
